Dear QEHS Parents and Guardians,
It was so great to see so many families on Thursday evening. A huge thank you to School Council for organizing our first food truck evening. It was great to see our new grade sevens lead their parents around the building. They have already found their way!
Even though it was a short week, it has been busy. We hosted senior high school girls' volleyball and our girls team looked fierce on the court and our junior high cross-country team had a successful first meet.
Many clubs are starting over the next few weeks. We will keep information on Knights’ Notes, Instagram and posters throughout the school. All Knights are encouraged to get involved!

High School Course Mark Overall Grade Calculation
Throughout each high school course, students and families will continue to receive information about assignments, assessments, and teacher feedback. This information helps students understand how they are doing, recognize their progress, and know what they can do next to improve.
Overall Course Grades will be shared five weeks into each semester (October 5 for Semester 1, and March 8 for Semester 2). By this time, teachers have gathered enough evidence of learning to provide an accurate picture of a student’s learning and achievement. Earlier in the semester, a small number of assignments can have a large impact on a student’s overall grade and may not yet reflect their learning accurately.
Waiting to share an Overall Course Grade helps students focus on learning and feedback rather than changes in a number. Our goal is for students to understand their progress, celebrate their growth, and know their next steps. Keeping the focus on learning and growth supports both student achievement and well-being.
Monday, October 19- Non-Instructional Day. Parent Teacher Interviews from 9 am – 4pm.

- More information about how to book a parent teacher conference will be provided in future Knights’ Notes communications.
- Our second Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences on March 18 and 19 will resume to our typical schedule with evening in-person conference on March 18 from 5-8pm and online conference on March 19 from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Junior High Student Wellness Action Team (SWAT)
Come out and share your voice to make QEHS even better place to connect and belong. Mondays in room 203 at lunch starting on Monday, September 14. High School SWAT coming soon.
High School Basketball
Attention to all students interested in playing high school basketball this year. Please sign up in the P.E. office, and plan to attend a brief informational meeting on Thursday, September 17 at lunch in the fitness centre.
Terry Fox Run- Thursday, September 17
All QEHS students will be invited to participate in the Terry Fox run next week. Junior High Students will run during PE class, and high school students will be invited during periods 3 and 4. Please consider bringing a “Toonie for Terry”. This will help us achieve our fundraising goal of $1,400 for cancer research. The online donation link is here: https://schools.terryfox.ca/137428 . There will also be a donation box located in the Main Office from Monday.
Junior High Cross Country Running
It's not too late to join the Junior High Cross Country running team. We've had a strong start to the season but we still have room for more runners. Practices are Monday and Wednesday at 8:00am and Tuesday and Thursday at 3:45pm. Our next race is September 15, followed by the final race on September 21.See Ms. Allen (A314) or Mr. Howard (A300) for more information or to pick up forms. Come join the biggest team at QEHS
