Our cafeteria is run and operated by our very own QE Culinary students! Our Culinary program produces a wide range of foods for purchase including, but not limited to, various local and international cuisines and an enticing selection of desserts and drinks. Foods produced and sold are all connected to the Alberta Foods program of studies and offer meals for dietary restrictions and healthy food options. Menus are posted monthly and feature student-inspired menu options, with guidance and instruction from a professionally trained and Red Seal certified, Chef Instructor and Teacher. Students are encouraged to support their schools' food programs by purchasing food from the cafeteria and contributing to QE’s continued sense of school community and pride. Students with allergies should always be mindful and inquire about what ingredients are in menu items when purchasing food from the cafeteria. Our culinary program’s kitchen uses various known allergens such as nuts, dairy, and gluten.
Students should be aware that the cafeteria is another classroom within the school and should be respected as such. Other than specified lunch times, the cafeteria is not a place to spend their spare time and hang out. The Culinary program runs its class in the cafeteria, and other students should not be a distraction during class time. Students are also reminded of their responsibility to be respectful of others’ property on and off campus during the lunch hour. Being respectful of the property of others means that students do not loiter in or around business establishments or trespass, loiter, or litter on private property.
