Dear QEHS Families,

At Queen Elizabeth High School, learning extends well beyond the classroom. We encourage all students to explore opportunities that match their interests, talents, and passions. Getting involved in clubs, fine arts, leadership, and service activities helps students build confidence, make connections, and create lasting memories.  Our clubs schedule for this year is updated on our website, and we are offering unique opportunities to build leadership skills, create, debate, connect and belong.

We look forward to seeing families online at our parent/student/teacher conferences on Monday.  You have not had a chance to book yet, please see the information below.

Finally, good luck to our junior high basketball teams, high school girls' volleyball team and provincial cross-country runners this weekend at their games/events- Go Knights Nation!

Have a great weekend.

With gratitude,

Jennifer Edmondson-Neily
Principal

Walk for Wenjack

Chanie Wenjack was a young boy who died on October 22, 1966, walking the railroad tracks, trying to escape from the Cecilia Jeffrey Indian Residential School to walk home. Students have organized a “Walk for Wenjack” that will take place during the week of October 20-23. This will be a short walk around our school community and is considered an off-site within 4 kilometers walking distance of our school. Everyone has their own reason to walk for Wenjack. For some, it may be a moment to honour Chanie. For others, it may be an opportunity to raise awareness of the history of residential schools.

Take Your Kid to Work Day

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 marks Alberta's Take Your Kid to Work Day, an opportunity for grade 9 students to explore the careers in which their parents work by attending work alongside them for the day. At Queen Elizabeth High School, we recognize that for a variety of reasons, students may be unable to attend work alongside a parent or guardian. As such, we have planned a career fair style event on November 4 for grade 9 and high school students who remain at the school. Students will have an opportunity to circulate to various professionals to learn about a variety of professional pathways. If you are interested in volunteering your time and sharing with students about your career, please feel free to fill out this interest form by October 22.
