Halloween

As Halloween approaches, two students in leadership class have planned a Halloween Costume Contest. We ask that all costumes worn to school for the contest follow these guidelines:

·        No masks and No Weapons.

·        Avoid costumes that misrepresent or offend any cultural, racial, or ethnic groups.

·        Costumes must be school appropriate, meaning that attire should not be overly revealing, contain offensive language, or promote violence.

Let’s ensure a wonderful and respectful environment for everyone to celebrate. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

High School Basketball

Senior Boys/Girls - Tryouts will begin Monday Nov. 18th @ 3:45pm (right after school) in the main gym for all grade 10, 11 and 12 students who are interested. Proper footwear and clothing are expected.

Culture Day

On November 21, we’re turning our school into a dazzling showcase of nations.  By creating a platform for cultural expression, we hope to foster a school environment filled with inclusion, understanding and mutual respect.  This is a chance for everyone to learn more about the world around them.  If you think your child would be interested in participating by creating a display that showcases the vibrancy, music, art and traditions of their culture, please have them see Ms. Warford in Room A304.

Remembrance Day

Calling all students, parents, and community members. Are you interested in participating in QEHS Remembrance Day Assembly on Thursday, November 7?

We are looking for a range of contributions from being a part of the colour guard to doing a reading or creating a piece of art. If you
are interested in being a part of the event, please contact Julie Csikos (jacsikos@cbe.ab.ca).

High School Play

This year, QE Theatre will be presenting Picasso At The Lapin Agile by Steve Martin. This 80-minute comedy imagines what would
happen if two geniuses of the 20 century, Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso, had met in 1904, before becoming famous. And what would happen if they met in a café in Paris full of funny and interesting customers?

An info meeting for interested actors and technicians will take place at lunch in the Theatre on Monday, October 28, though students are welcome to come talk to Mr. Sword before then. Auditions will be held Monday, November 4. Performances will happen in April 2025.

Socktober

Junior High home rooms are challenged to donate new socks for Socktober! We will be donating these to WINS (Women in Need Society). We are accepting socks for all age ranges and genders. The deadline for donations will be October 31, 2024. There will be a space in each homeroom for students to drop them off. This event is also a part of community spirit building between our homeroom classes. Let’s try to make a difference!

This year, yearbook sales will go directly through Josten's website. Yearbooks will be for sale from August 28, 2024 to February 23, 2025 on Josten's website for $40.00 per book.
