QEHS Band
Senior Band – Very exciting times with our Whistler trip quickly approaching. In order to be fully prepared, there will be a mandatory parent meeting on April 3rd at 6pm to go over all trip details and expectations. Please ensure that one adult is present for this meeting.
Grade 8/9 Junior Band – We are getting close to the final preparation for our band camp in Banff from May 7 - 9. To help with the final stages of planning, all participating band students must meet with Mr. Parker at lunch on Thursday, May 21 to choose hotel roommates as well as inform Mr. Parker of any dietary allergies/food restrictions. If students are unable to attend, parents are asked to email Mr. Parker with any food allergies/restrictions their child may have NO LATER THAN APRIL 2. This date has been set by Banff Music Retreats to ensure that all hotel staff and restaurants are informed with enough time to meal plan. A mandatory parent meeting will be scheduled for the end of April, the exact date will come in the coming weeks.
Little Free Seed Library
With the help of our Construction students, QEHS Gardening Club will be making a Little Free Seed Library. The Seed Library will be accessible to everyone in the community and is intended to provide people with the opportunity to take seeds to plant in their gardens or to donate seeds for neighbors to use. We have a stock of seeds we’re starting with, but would appreciate donations of (1) labeled garden seeds and (2) small jars or containers to store the seeds in. Small sample jam jars work really well. Please bring any donations for the seed library to the Main Office; we will be collecting donations throughout April.
