Parent Teacher Interviews
We will be hosting on-line Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, March 21 from 5pm-8pm and Friday, March 22 from 9am-2pm. If you require an in-person meeting, please reach out to your child’s teacher directly so that you can set up a time. Parents can begin booking Conferences through their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account, under the ‘Book and Manage Meeting Times’ tab. Booking will open on Thursday, March 14 at 7am. A Teams link for the meeting will be sent to you in your confirmation e-mail. If you have trouble booking Conferences, please contact the main office so that they can assist you.

2024 Alberta Youth Summit for Environmental Leadership: March 22-24, 2024 at Barrier Lake Field Station, Kananaskis (All expenses paid). For ages 13-18 Deadline to apply: March 16th
The 2024 Alberta Youth Summit for Environmental Leadership will bring 10 youth delegates alongside a team of 2 chaperones to Barrier Lake for a weekend of workshops, educational experiences, outdoor activities, and presentations. Come to student services for the QR code!

Grade 11 summer opportunity at the U of C: The Research Services Office from the University of Calgary is now accepting applications from Grade 11 high school students for the 2024 Alberta Innovates High School Youth Researcher Summer (HYRS) program.
The online application deadline for students is Thursday, March 14th, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. MT. The deadline for references is Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. MT. Interested students can apply on this webpage.
Pi Day
Reminder that this Thursday at lunch students who purchased a ticket to pie a teacher will get the opportunity to throw a whip cream pie at a teacher. Students whose names were drawn will be contacted via email prior to Thursday. Mrs. Wilson-Brown, Mrs. Rheinstein, Mr. Vaudan, and Mr. Perfect were all voted to receive a Pie in the face. All students are welcome to come and watch. We will also be auctioning off three special pies for students to throw. Bring some cash as those pies will go to the highest bidder!
High School Basketball
Congratulations to the following athletes who represented Knights’ basketball this season. Our teams demonstrated persistence all season long and represented Queen Elizabeth well. The senior boys played in a tough match up in the quarter finals game to end their season. We also had a representative on the Junior Varsity Girls’ team at William Aberhart. That team played in the Division 1 City Championship last Friday. Also, please congratulate Atticus W. as he is the QE representative for the selects game that is being held on Tuesday, March 12 at Crescent Heights.

Attention all senior boys who signed up for spring soccer: Tryouts will start Monday, March 18th at 3.45 p.m. on the lower field. Remember to have cleats and shin guards. Without shin guards you cannot participate.

Paper Airplane Contest
Make a paper airplane and compete in the Engineering Club’s paper airplane contest. Make paper airplanes and come to the Senior Gym on Wednesday, March 20 during lunch to compete in 3 categories: Range, Air Time, and Stunts.

Clubs
Engineering Club - Join the QEHS Engineering Club! The Engineering Club aims to solve problems throughout the school as well as providing a learning opportunity for students. If you like design, budgeting and being hands-on, join the QEHS Engineering Club, meeting in Rm 301 after school every Thursday. The engineering club has many hands-on projects, and is organizing grad bricks and a paper airplane competition (more info later).
Improv Club - The Improv Club is returning! If you have lots of experience improvising or none at all but would like to learn how this style of acting works, sessions are starting Thursdays after school in the Theatre.
Garden Club - The Garden Club will gather on Tuesdays at lunch in room 232. Our first meeting will be on February 13.
Neurodivergent Alliance - meets Thursdays at lunch in room 232. Everyone is welcome.
Writing Club – meets in Room 236 on Tuesdays at lunchtime.
Robotics – Will be meeting on Tuesdays at Lunch in Room A301
Crochet and Embroidery Club - Are you a current cross stitcher, embroiderer, or crocheter? Are you interested in learning one of these crafts? If you said yes to either of these questions, then this club is for you! Starting Wednesdays in February, bring your current works in progress (or the desire to learn) to room 233! Basic materials will be provided, and stitches will be reviewed. Come hang out and create with Ms. Hynes! (Room 233)
