QE Band Parents Association Team

We’re reaching out to parents of Grade 9 students (and younger) to invite you to join our QE Band Parents Association. This wonderful group plays a vital role in supporting our band program—not just for today, but for the future.

The commitment is minimal, approximately 2 to 3 hours a month but the impact is significant. Whether it’s helping with events, fundraising, or simply offering ideas and support, your involvement truly makes a difference.

Let’s keep the band program alive and thriving for years to come. If you’re interested or have questions, we’d love to hear from you!

Thank you for being such an important part of our band community.

GATE Parents

GATE Parent Education Session and General Meeting

Supporting the Social & Emotional Health of Gifted Students
Gifted students often face unique emotional and social challenges, such as heightened sensitivity, perfectionism, and isolation. In this presentation, Ley-Anne Folks and Heather Lai from Westmount Charter School will discuss ways to support their well-being, which involves creating a safe, understanding environment, promoting peer connections, and providing access to mental health resources. Non-GATE parents are welcome to attend this session.

Immediately following the presentation, we will hold a short GATE Parent Association General Meeting. If you have a student registered in GATE for this current school year, you are a member of the GPA.

Date & Time: Thursday May 22, 2025, 7:00 pm
Venue: Virtual meeting (Zoom)
