Dear QEHS Parents and Guardians,

We had a very busy week at QEHS!  It was fantastic to see the energy and enthusiasm on the field on Thursday as students participated in the Terry Fox run. Together we raised $870 for cancer research- way to go, Knights!

Today, we acknowledged National Truth and Reconciliation Day, which takes place on September 30th each year.  Thank you to our Leadership students for planning the school-wide activities. All students were encouraged to wear orange shirts, and they had an opportunity to reflect on this year’s theme: “we still carry with us the lessons on how to treat one another with the greatest respect”.  Through class discussions, and contributions to a school wide Walking Together mural, students were invited to learn that Every Child Matters

Reminder that there is no school on Monday, September 29 or Tuesday, September 30.  On Monday teachers will be engaging in professional learning to build capacity in culturally responsive teaching practices and strategies to support students with exceptionalities in an inclusive learning environment.  On Tuesday, the school will be closed for National Truth and Reconciliation Day.

We look forward to welcoming students back on Wednesday, October 1.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Edmondson-Neily
Principal
