Dear QEHS Parents and Guardians,
Winter break has arrived, and I am reflecting on my gratitude for our Knight’s community of caring.
Helping Hands Fund and gift card donations raised over $1350 dollars in the month of Decemeber. We purchased grocery gift cards to Walmart and Superstore, and the cards were distributed to families in need this week- thank you.
Our students were also in a generous spirit this week. Grade 9 leadership students engaged in a partnership with the children at the West Hillhurst Pre-School and the Bethany Care Centre. Big kids matched littles to create Holiday cards that were then shared with the seniors at the Bethany Centre.
Furthermore, our Student Advocacy Team collected hygiene essentials for residents of the Elizabeth Fry Centre. The donation drive will continue in January, and the Student Advocacy Team asks that families save shoeboxes over the break to fill with the donations in January.
Finally, we wish to thank the School Council and GATE Parent’s Association for showing our staff their appreciation. We are grateful for your support, and we gobbled up all of the yummy treats!
On behalf of all of the staff at QEHS, we want you to know we are immensely proud of our students. As a community, we move into this season grounded in what connects us: meaningful relationships and a shared belief in the power of learning and every student reaching their potential. Warmest wishes for a wonderful break and a strong and healthy start to 2026.
With hope and gratitude,
Jennifer Edmondson-Neily
Principal
